Choosing a door
Four decisions shape the door:
- Style. Browse modern, carriage house, full view glass and traditional raised panel doors in our garage door style guide.
- Material. Steel is the most common: durable, low maintenance and available in many finishes. Aluminum and glass suit contemporary homes. Wood is beautiful and needs regular refinishing in the Texas sun.
- Insulation. An insulated door is quieter, stiffer and keeps the garage noticeably cooler in summer.
- Windows and hardware. Glass adds daylight; placement and tint affect privacy.
To see any of these on your own house, use our Design Studio: upload a photo, try doors on it and get an estimated installed price.
If you live in a community with an HOA, check its guidelines on colour and style before ordering. We can provide the specification sheet the review committee usually asks for.
How installation works
- Measure and estimate. We measure the opening, headroom, side room and depth, and look at the framing and the existing opener.
- Order. Stock doors arrive quickly; custom colours, sizes and glass take longer. We will give you the lead time when you order.
- Installation day. The old door and track are removed. New tracks, springs, cables and rollers go in with the door; old hardware is not reused.
- Balance and test. The door is balanced, the opener is reconnected and its limits reset, and the safety reversal is tested.
- Walkthrough. We show you the manual release, the maintenance points, and answer questions.
Most single door replacements are completed in a day.
What a new garage door costs
The price of a new door is set by five things: its size, how it is built (single layer, or insulated with steel on both sides), the insulation type, windows and glass, and the finish. A standard insulated steel door in a stock colour sits at the lower end; wood look finishes, designer glass, full view aluminum and custom sizes cost more.
The quickest way to get a real number is our Design Studio. Choose the door, colour and windows, and it shows an estimated installed price for that exact door. The final price is confirmed once we have measured your opening. Financing options are available.
Built for the Texas climate
West- and south facing doors take the worst of the afternoon sun. Dark colours absorb more heat, and some finishes are better suited to full exposure than others. Insulation matters more here than in milder climates if you use the garage as a workshop or gym, or if there is a room above it. We will talk through the trade-offs for your home’s orientation.

Garage Door Installation FAQs
Do you offer financing?
Yes. Financing options are available. Ask when you call or during your estimate and we will go over them with you.
How long does it take to get a new garage door?
Installation itself is typically one day. The wait is for the door: common sizes and colours are often available quickly, while custom orders take longer. We will give you a specific lead time with your estimate.
Do you offer free estimates on new doors?
Call (512) 273-3798 or send a request and we will arrange a time to measure and go over options with you.
Will you remove and dispose of my old door?
Yes. Removal and haul-away of the old door and hardware is part of a replacement job.
Can I keep my existing opener?
Often. If the opener is in good condition and rated for the weight of the new door, we reconnect and adjust it. We will check during the estimate.
