Custom Garage Doors

When a standard door will not fit the opening or the vision, a custom door will. Custom can mean an unusual size, a specific wood species or stain, a glass layout drawn for your house, or a door designed to match existing architectural details.

Reasons to go custom

  • Size. Extra tall doors for trucks, vans and RVs; extra wide openings; older garages with non-standard dimensions.
  • Design. Matching a front door, gate or window pattern, or carrying siding across the door so the garage disappears into the wall.
  • Material. Real cedar or mahogany, wood look steel and composite, or a particular glass.
  • Colour. Factory applied custom colours to match trim or meet HOA requirements.

Wood and wood look

Real wood is unmatched for depth and character. It also asks for commitment: in Central Texas, a stained wood door in full sun generally needs refinishing every couple of years to stay protected.

Wood look steel and composite doors have become very convincing and need only washing. For most homes they deliver the appearance owners want with far less upkeep. We will show you both and be frank about the trade-off.

What to expect

Custom doors take longer to arrive than stock doors, and the lead time depends on the manufacturer and the design. The process begins with a site visit to measure and talk through what you have in mind. If you have a photo of a door you like, bring it; it is the fastest way to get to the right design.
